20 grams Packed in a sealed pouch Expiry: dec 2021 DRIED PORCINI MUSHROOMS Porcini mushrooms, dried to provide a more intense flavour than fresh mushrooms. Simple to prepare – just soak in freshly boiled water for around 10 minutes, then drain and use in stir-fries, classic pasta dishes and risottos. INSTRUCTIONS Soak the mushrooms in a bowl wth boiling water (for 50g of mushrooms around 500ml of boiling water will produce a balanced stock). Wait for 30 minutes then lift out the mushrooms and squeeze dry. Cook the mushrooms thoroughly before eating. Prior to using the liquid as a stock, allow to settle and gently pour out the liquid leaving any sediment behind. Other options: Soften whole dried mushrooms in hot water for at least 15 minutes before adding to a dish. You can use the flavorful soaking liquid as all or part of a recipe's cooking liquid (as for a mushroom risotto). Or add dried porcini to a pot of braised short ribs or lamb shanks. Preparation and Usage To rehydrate, soak in boiling water for up to 30 minutes and drain before use. Once rehydrated, lightly fry the mushrooms in a little olive oil or butter, before adding to your recipe. Ideal for use in pasta dishes, risottos, stir-fries, cassreroles, quiches and omelettes.
