Vanilla is a perennial herbaceous climber that can reach a height of 25 meters. The orchid is a member of the Orchidaceae family. It has deep trumpet-shaped flowers. Stems are over 35m in length and are alternately arranged. The plant's leaves are fleshy or leathery. Aerial roots grow from each node. 

HISTORY
• Throughout history, Africans have used the oil to treat stomach problems. 
• Throughout the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, European physicians used Vanilla oil as an antidote to neutralize the effects of poison and stomach problems. 
• Historically, the oil was believed to possess antidepressant, sedative, aphrodisiac, and antioxidant properties.

PRECAUTION
• Always dilute Vanilla oil prior to applying it to the skin topically. 
• NEVER USE WATER IF THIS OIL COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE EYES. Wipe the area with 1-2 drops of vegetable oil and a soft, clean tissue. 
• Keep the oil bottle out of reach of children.
