Baklava is a layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry, filled with chopped nuts, and sweetened with syrup or honey. It was one of the most popular sweet pastries of Middle eastern cuisine.

The origin of the dish is ROMA Empire that was that was sitting on The land of the Levant all the way to Anatolian Mountains , but, in modern times, it is a common dessert of, Turkish and Arab cuisines, and other countries of the Levant and Maghreb, along with the South Caucasus, Balkans, and Central Asia.

it's come with many different styles but the most famous is top of them: 
Syrian Style  and the Turkish Style

Turkish style using egg in the dough and the layers are more thicker and less in numbers.
when its come to the Syrian Style which mostly is the origin land of the baklava it have more layers and literally very very thin layers , beside it's not contain eggs in the dough , cooked on low fire , slow cooking , to give that crunchiness texture.
