Throughout the world, living whales are now clearly perceived as having greater value than dead whales. In the Philippines, all whale and dolphin fisheries have been legally prohibited. Dolphin hunting is clearly illegal under Fisheries Administrative Office (FAO) 185-1. It is unlawful to catch dolphins, whales, and porpoises in Philippine waters, or to sell, purchase, posses, transport, or export them, whether dead or alive, in any state or form.
