Adding lube to a dirty chain will just create a sticky mess, so use degreaser to loosen the grime, then wash with hot, soapy water and leave to dry. >Drop the chain onto a small sprocket. This will force the chain through tight corners as it passes through the rear derailleur’s jockey wheels, forcing lube into the chain links. >Apply lube to the top of the lower part of the chain and let gravity do its work.
