Peat Moss is an ideal potting mix and soil substitute for starting seeds and growing plants in pots and containers. It is made from dried and processed sphagnum peat moss, a natural plant-based material. It has a sponge-like structure which explains why it can hold or retain more water than ordinary fiber-based potting media. All three variants are dried and processed peat moss. The difference lies in the texture. TS1 is finer, drains faster and usually dries quicker. This is ideal for growing seeds, seedlings, cuttings and other plants that need to be consistently moist. Finally, TS2 is a middle-ground between the two, neither too dry nor too wet.
