Perfumer’s Alcohol (Ethanol 95%) Perfumer's alcohol is ethanol (denatured), whereas rubbing alcohol is isopropyl alcohol. This creates distinct qualities for perfumer's alcohol, one of which is the smell -- or rather, lack of smell. Perfumer's alcohol has less of a chemical odor to it, and sometimes is compared to Everclear or unflavored moonshine. It is the main carrier for the fragrance oils. This evaporates quickly as it is warmed by skin temperature releasing the fragrances evenly over the surface. Perfumers alcohol is also used in the production of DIFFUSER OILS.
