Product Description

Chromecast with Google TV Snow design and remote Oval pebble-like design, three colours Will come with a remote The Chromecast with Google TV sticks to a similar design as previous devices, looking like a small flat pebble that connects to your TV via HDMI. It needs to be connected to a power supply, so there will be a wire running to the USB socket on the device. As per the Chromecast Ultra, it's likely you'll have to connect it to the wall, rather than running it off a 5V USB socket on the back of a TV. As it principally connects via Wi-Fi to your network there are not other physical connections on the device, although there will be an accessory power supply that will integerate an Ethernet port for connection to a wired network. This will work in the same way as it did for the Chromecast Ultra. There will be three colours for the new Chromecast - snow, sunrise and sky. Google says that it is manufactured from 49 per cent recycled plastics. The big change is the inclusion of a remote. This remote is powered by two AAA batteries, with a directional controller at the top, familiar buttons like home and back for navigation, as well as shortcuts for Google Assistant, Netflix and YouTube. You'll also be able to control some TV functions, with an input control button. Chromecast with Google TV features Debuts Google TV Supports Android TV apps 4K HDR 60fps, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos Google Assistant The new Chromecast with Google TV will change direction dramatically compared to previous versions. So far, Chromecast has only been a link between your TV and online content, relying on a separate device to control it - your phone or laptop for example. That will all still work - supporting casting like it did before - but with the addition of a remote and and Google TV, you no longer need to cast everything you want to watch. Google TV is described by Google as a new entertainment experience. It doen't replace Android TV, it's just the user interface. Importantly, it means you have something to control and navigate, with access to recommendations for your content, the ability to resume shows you were watching and bookmarking things you want to watch later. Google says that it will help you discover content across all your services, based on what you watch. Support for Google Assistant means you can speak into the remote to get suggestions, search for content or to interact with Google Assistant as you would on other devices, for example turning down the lights or checking who is at the door. The Chromecast with Google TV supports 4K HDR content at up to 60fps, including Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The apps and services will reflect those supported by Android TV, so you'll find all the big streaming services and catch-up TV offered. Dimensions (W x H x D) 61 x 12.5 x 162 mm Weight 55 g
