These chemicals and metals are found in our ordinary top water from our municipality supply. These chemicals are much less harmful to humans than to fish. It is vitally inportant , with any brand of anti chlorine to de-chlorinate the water before the water is added to the aquarium or pond to reduce the chances of contact between the fish and these harmful chemicals. Heavy metals although not directly added to the water, are present that is added to the system. These metals are released into the water in different ways. The most common being is that the metal leaches from the pipes that brings water to our homesand the plumbing in ourhouses/garden itself.
