For tough input like coffee beans or large corn kernels, multiple passes may be required. First set to coarse by turning the the adjustment screw and 2 side screw (shown in detail in picture) so that the grinding wheels will separate to accommodate bigger particles. This first pass will crack the grain. Then put the output back into the hopper, adjust the settings, and grind again. You may do one two or multiple passes to achieve your desired texture.
