The Flow Region of the River (DAS) is a mainland area topically limited by mountain backs that hold and store rainwater to then channel them into the sea through the main river. The mainland area is named Water Capture area (DTA/ catchment area). The Flow Region of the River (DAS) can also be defined as an area limited by natural topography, where all rainwater falls in it will flow through a river and exit through the river, or is a hydrology unit Which describes and uses physical units and economic social activities units for natural resources planning and management (Suripin, 2001).
Bas are often compared to rivers, although the BAS is wider and complex than just rivers. The river is one of the components that form a DAS. If you see a DAS map, then it will look similar to the administrative map of an area. Though if meticulous, it can be seen that DAS area can also sometimes cross the administrative limit of an area.
One of the important components in management of riverflow regions (TAS) is the existence of vegetation, especially forest vegetation, as the forest is seen as a water flow regulator (regulator stream) that can store water during rainy season and release it in dry season. The book is compiled on the basis of the two main topics, the influence of the forest on DAS as well as its management, which is then outlined by the author into six chapters, includes:
Flow Region of the River
Hydrology Cycle
River Flow Region Ecosystem
Management Vegetation and Water Results
Management of the River Flow Area
Management:public based DAS
The author also complements chapters with summary and questions as diskussion materials. Additionally, it also presents a distinctive topics in West Callantan to introduce DAS Kasatis conditions and local wisdom of the public in managing the DAS in Kalbar.
