Epidemiology is the study of all kinds of diseases that affect the population. Brian MacMahon (1970) in Bustan, 2012 states epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determination of disease in humans. The same was said by Last (1988) in Bustan, 2012 that epidemiology is the study of distribution and determining health problems in a particular population and its use to address these health problems.
The book consists of six chapters. In the first and second chapters, the limits and scope of epidemiology and the size of epidemiology are expounded. In the third and fourth chapters, the concept of disease and natural history and prevention of disease is described. In chapters five and six, it is described as the strategy of epidemiology and the design of epidemiology studies.
