Product Description

Artemia Cyst Brine Shrimp Eggs 435 grams 1. Fill a clean hatching tank with clean and filtered saltwater. Ideal salinity for hatching should be with a specific gravity of 1.01-1.02. 2. Warm water to 29-30 degrees Celcius (84.2-86 degrees Fahrenheit) before adding eggs. 3. Adjust pH to 7.5-8.5. Add an alkaline solution if necessary to raise the pH. 4. Add brine shrimp eggs without any aeration and allow them to hydrate. This takes about 30 minutes. These eggs are very light. It is easy for them to get stuck on the sides of the tank due to the aeration if they are not allowed to hydrate first and sink to the bottom. 5. After the eggs are hydrated, vigorously aerate the tank so that al eggs stay in suspension during the hatching process. Be sure to check the tank frequently, and wash eggs that have stuck to the sides back down to the tank. You may have to do this 3-4 times during the hatching process. 6. Adjust aeration so that the eggs just float in the water. If aeration is too strong, eggs will stick to the sides at the top. 7. Leave a light on over the hatching tank during the hatching process. This helps stimulate the hatching process. 8. Harvest baby brine shrimp (nauplii) after 20-24 hours. Remove the air hose and allow the animals (nauplii) to school at the bottom. Siphon them into a fine mesh net and rinse with clean water. 9. Clean and sanitize the hatching tank between culture cycles. 10. Always store cysts at low temperature and in a dry area to keep them fresh and alive. Exposure to high temperatures, especially under the sun for even a short period can easily damage the eggs.
