After WWII, Ho Chi Minh was with the VietMinh, fighting the French...in 1948-9, located in the jungles in the north. The French had the resources necessary to produce the attractive French Indochina notes... In the jungle, the VietMinh had trouble obtaining the necessaries (paper, ink,printing plates)...this resulted in poor/mixed quality notes... Well circulated notes.... typical for the issue.....notes have had long, difficult lives... please see the photos
